Artist Statement: On rare occasions as I wander the streets of this city, I sense a beckoning from the corner of my eye that stops me in my tracks. It may be a particular arrangement of gestural markings on a shop window, the way natural light hovers over the sheen of some reflective surface or the vibration of an intense colour that seem to capture something of the grand distant universe within a micro level plane however mundane. I stand still, my imagination activated, my mind pondering the mystery of these unexpected signs or messages that assert themselves beyond language, logic or reason.
